Jeff Bezos announces divorce from MacKenzie Bezos after 25 years together.
Some interesting facts:
- Washington State is a “community property” state, which means all the money and debt will be divided 50/50
- This will more than likely make their divorce the biggest settlement ever b/c Jeff’s network is something like 137 billion
“As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends,” the couple said in a statement, which Bezos, 54, shared Wednesday morning on Twitter. “We’ve had such a great life together as a married couple, and we also see wonderful futures ahead, as parents, friends, partners in ventures and projects, and as individuals pursuing ventures and adventures.”
Goes on to say, "We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for everyone one of the years we have been married to each other. If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again."
I like the words, but seemed a little “heavy handed Sarah” (thank you Jim Gaffigan)!
Then eonline.com reported, “According to multiple reports, the Amazon CEO has been secretly seeing former Good Day L.A. co-host Lauren Sanchez. The news of their alleged relationship comes just hours after Bezos announced that he and his wife MacKenzie Bezos were getting a divorce after 25 years of marriage.”
What we liked in their statement that can really make a positive impact on yours:
- “loving exploration”
- “continue our shared lives as friends”
- “We’ve had such a great life together as a married couple”
- “see wonderful futures ahead”
- “friends, partners”
- “lucky to have found each other”
- “deeply grateful”
- “great life together”
